Businesses and nonprofits with 50 or fewer employees, worldwide, located in Michigan who have not received a grant under the Michigan Small Business Relief Program (MSBRP) are encouraged to apply to two new grant programs.
Businesses must also demonstrate the following:
• Part of an industry or nonprofit that can demonstrate it has been impacted by the COVID-19 emergency.
• Needs working capital to support payroll expenses, rent, mortgage payments, utility expenses or other similar expenses.
• Demonstrates an income loss as result of the COVID-19 emergency as determined by the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF).
• Additionally, at least 30 percent of the funds awarded under this program will be provided to women-owned, minority-owned or veteran-owned eligible businesses.
The Michigan Strategic Fund also approved the $15 million Michigan Agricultural Safety Grant Program to support the needs of Michigan’s agricultural processors and farms.
The program supports the implementation of COVID-19 monitoring and mitigation strategies to protect agricultural employees and the state’s overall food production industry.
Applications for this grant will open on July 15.
Applications for a $10,000 grant under the Macomb County Sustainability Grant program are being accepted until the close of business Wednesday, July 22.
Meanwhile, the Small Business Sustainability Program is offering $10,000 grants for companies with 50+ employees that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. The deadline for those applications is July 22 at 5 p.m.
Back-to-Business Kits are also available for local businesses.
The kits include a variety of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as well as other helpful items to enhance and maintain safety standards for employees and customers alike.
