County launches online virus screening tool for employees, visitors
Macomb County has launched a daily self-screening questionnaire for employees, vendors and members of the public wishing to enter county facilities.
The digital survey will ask for a name and contact information. It will also list COVID-19 symptoms and will ask respondents to check off what they may or may not be experiencing.
Immediate guidance on whether the respondent should enter a county building will be issued based on their reported symptoms. Information gathered from the survey will be kept confidential.
The self-screening questionnaire was developed to assist county leaders in keeping facilities safe and secure and in accordance with CDC guidelines and the governor's executive orders.
The goal is to prevent individuals with COVID-19 symptoms or a positive test from entering county buildings.

SBM section presents virtual annual meeting
The State Bar of Michigan’s Health Care Law Section will present its Virtual Annual Meeting with GoToWebinar on Thursday, Sept. 17.
The agenda includes:
• 2:15 to 2:45 p.m. — Business Meeting
• 2:50 to 3:50 p.m. — Legal Aspects of Health Inequalities: Assisting Clients in Improving Access to, and Provision of Quality Healthcare for the Disenfranchised.
The presentation will provide an overview of disenfranchised and marginalized groups and access to quality healthcare, according to organizers.
• 3:55 to 4:35 p.m. — Legislative Update — Hot Topics in Michigan’s Legislature.

Attorneys needed for Constitution Day event
Volunteer attorneys are needed to help with the Constitution Day program presented on Sept. 17 by Judge Michael Warren of the Oakland County Circuit Court.
Warren and the Constitution Day Committee will be hosting more than 300 high school and middle school students from across Oakland County via Zoom from 9-10 a.m. that Thursday.
Through individual Zoom rooms, the attorneys will assist their group of students on formulating an argument to support their designated position on a factual case scenario, according to a spokesman for the Oakland County Bar Association.
Two students in each group will then present oral arguments on the case before a judge who will render an opinion.
