Lakeshore Legal Aid receives $57,500 in funding

The Oakland County Bar Foundation recently awarded two grants totaling $57,500 to Lakeshore Legal Aid to help provide free legal assistance to low-income and senior residents of Oakland County.

Lakeshore Legal Aid operates the Family Law Assistance Project (FLAP) and the Estate Planning Clinic (EPC) in Oakland County.

FLAP provides free civil legal services to low-income people with family law issues, including divorce, custody, child support, and parenting time.

EPC provides free legal assistance to seniors who need end of life planning assistance, such as wills and medical power of attorney documents.

The grants from the Oakland County Bar Foundation will assist FLAP and EPC to meet one of the Foundation’s main missions, “Ensuring to the fullest extent possible that legal services are made available to all members of the public.”

Further information about FLAP and EPC can be obtained by calling 248-530-9330.

Lakeshore Legal Aid is a not-for-profit law firm serving low-income people, seniors, and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in a holistic manner to address clients’ legal issues and improve communities.
