Michigan Super Lawyers magazine recently named 13 attorneys from Plunkett Cooney to its 2020 list of "Super Lawyers."
For the 14th consecutive year, Plunkett Cooney appellate attorney Mary Massaron has received special recognition by the magazine with its inclusion of her among the state's top 50 women lawyers. Partner D. Jennifer Andreou, who serves as a co-leader of Plunkett Cooney's Medical Liability Practice Group, returns to the top 50 list of women attorneys.

Butzel Long is growing with the addition of attorneys Terrence J. Miglio and Barbara Eckert Buchanan. They join the firm as shareholders. Formerly, they were with the Varnum law firm.
Both Miglio and Buchanan have significant trial experience, and represent employers before federal and state courts in litigation involving all types of employment and labor claims, including discrimination, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, whistleblower, wage and hour, trade secrets and credentialing of health care professionals.
They advise employers before federal and state administrative agencies in various matters including EEO charges, unfair labor practice charges, and wage and hour complaints, and in counseling employers in all aspects of labor and employment matters.
They also both work with health care organizations in matters such as peer review activities, professional credentialing and discipline.
Miglio is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Wayne State University Law School, and is admitted in Michigan and Ohio.
Buchanan is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the Santa Clara University School of Law, and is admitted in both Michigan and California.
Both have received various honors, including being inducted as Fellows of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, a carefully vetted honor for which only those who have distinguished themselves in the field of labor and employment for at least 20 years are eligible. They join John Hancock, Dan Tukel, Jim Rosenfeld and Diane Soubly as Butzel Fellows of the College.
In addition, Butzel Longimmigration law attorney Reginald A. Pacis was a featured speaker on Saturday, September 26, during the 69th Annual Association for Legal Professionals (NALS) conference, which was held virtually this year. Pacis provided an overview of U.S. Immigration Issues including what a visa allows, what an immigration status allows, and the implications of lawful versus unlawful presence.
Pacis focuses his practice in immigration law and has handled a variety of immigration matters including H-1B specialty occupation cases, L-1 Intracompany transfers, Labor Certification matters, Immigrant Visa Petitions/Adjustment of Status applications and interviews, TN Free trade cases, H-1B Department of Labor Investigations, I-9 employer verification compliance, and U.S. Port of Entry airport and land port interviews.
Pacis was appointed by Governor Rick Snyder to serve as a commissioner to the Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission (MAPAAC), which helps address the needs and concerns of the Asian Pacific American (APA) communities in Michigan.
He was named Immigration Lawyer of the Year 2013 in the field of Immigration Law by The Best Lawyers in America and has been listed in Best Lawyers for several years. Pacis is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and the Samahang Pilipino Ng Oakland Filipino organization. He served two consecutive one-year terms from 2003 to 2005 as chairperson of the Michigan Chapter of AILA and was a member of the AILA National Board of Governors for those terms. Dukarski focuses her practice at the intersection of technology and communications with an emphasis on emerging and disruptive issues: digital media and content, cybersecurity and privacy, infotainment and shared mobility, and connected and autonomous cars.
In her practice, she has assisted clients with defamation, invasion of privacy, copyright, and other content-based claims. She focuses on compliance with various industry regulations and has become a national leader in legal issues facing emerging automotive technology and is the leader of Butzel Long's connected car working group.
A self-titled "recovering engineer," Dukarski was named one of the 30 Women Defining the Future of Technology in January 2020 by Warner Communications for her innovative thoughts and contributions to the tech industry.
