As discussions surrounding the results of the 2020 Presidential Election continue, National Council of Jewish Women, Michigan (NCJW|MI) will host a webinar called “Post-Election Reflections: Implications for the Future,” featuring two leading Detroit editorial journalists from opposite political sides, and available free to the public on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m.
The program features commentary from Brian Dickerson, Editorial Page editor at the Detroit Free Press, and Nolan Finley, Editorial Page editor at The Detroit News, plus questions and answers from the audience.
Moderating the event will be Stephen Steinhardt, a Macomb County attorney and political activist.
“November 3rd’s election defied pollsters’ predictions and our political future seems increasingly uncertain, so hearing from the editorial pundits will hopefully shed some light on our concerns,” said Irma Glaser, NCJW co-state policy advocate, Michigan.
Topics up for discussion will include:
• Implications of the recent election results
• Polarization of national politics
• Vulnerability of the democratic process
• America in the world
• The economy and COVID-19
• Professional media, social media, and politics
• Misinformation and disinformation on social media
The event is the third in a series of webinars called “The Power of Your Vote” held by NCJW|MI as part of its voter advocacy initiatives, designed to inform the Michigan electorate.
NCJW|MI is a progressive 129-year non-profit organization in metro Detroit that promotes social justice and advocacy, as well as organizing volunteer projects, to help women, children, and families.
A 501(c)(3) organization, NCJW|MI is non-partisan and does not advocate for or against candidates or political parties.
