'Trauma-Informed Lawyering' offered online

The Practising Law Institute (PLI) will present “Trauma-Informed Lawyering: Strategies and Best Practices” as a live webcast on Thursday, Jan. 7, beginning at 1 p.m.

Whether an attorney in the legal services, law firm, or corporate setting, for anyone working with pro bono clients it is critical to incorporate trauma-informed lawyering into a practice.

Working on pro bono matters may feel challenging at times, but being prepared and understanding best practices will help attorneys help their clients.

The briefing will address how trauma can manifest itself in client relations as well as best practices to use to build trust and help clients.

Topics include:

  • How traumatic memories work and how manifestations of trauma can affect client interactions.
  • Best practices for building trust.
  • Best practices for preparing for client interviews and meetings.

Course materials will be available to attendees prior to the start of the program.

Cost for the webcast is $25. To register or for additional information, visit www.pli.edu and click on “programs.”
