Webinar focuses on millennial jurors and new judges
The Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (MDTC) will present the webinar “Trying Cases with Millennial Jurors and New Judges” on Friday, March 5, from noon to 1 p.m.
Speaking at the online program will be Slater C. Elza of Underwood Law Firm in Amarillo, Texas. Moderating the program will be John Hohmeier of Scarfone & Geen PC in Madison Heights.

ADTC schedules ‘Radiology IME’ online seminar
The Association of Defense Trial Counsel will host its “Lunch–and–Learn Seminar Series” online via Zoom on Tuesday, March 9, beginning at noon.
Speaking at the virtual seminar will be Dr. David Rossow, Diagnostic Radiology, Neuroradiology, who will discuss “Radiology IME.”
Rossow is a board-certified radiologist specializing in diagnostic radiology and neuroradiology. He is currently affiliated with Beaumont Hospital-Dearborn, Beaumont Hospital-Taylor, Beaumont Hospital-Southshore, Beaumont Hospital-Wayne, Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, and Monroe Promedica Medical Center.
Rossow is a graduate of Wayne State University and Wayne State University School of Medicine. Following graduation from medical school, he completed a fellowship in Neuroradiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Ferris State adding social justice degree program in fall
BIG RAPIDS (AP) — Ferris State University next fall will begin offering classes toward a bachelor's degree in social justice.
The program will be a collaboration between the colleges of arts and sciences, business and health professions.
“The timing of this program’s inauguration is good, as it will allow students to connect what they have learned to their society and become agents of change,” said
Bobby Fleischman, provost and vice president of academic affairs.
He said the curriculum will be rooted in history, allowing students to study social movements that had a significant impact on society. Students will examine the causes and consequences of inequality.
“They can serve as health advocates and administrators with nonprofit organizations,” Fleischman said. “Our social justice graduates will be important members of law firms and criminal justice programming, along with government and educational institutions.”
Ferris State is in Big Rapids, 55 miles north of Grand Rapids.
