'Video Arbitrations' discussed at SBM online program


The Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan will present online "LELS Lunch & Learn: Arbitrators' Perspectives on Video Arbitrations" Thursday, May 13, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.

This virtual discussion will delve into the advantages and disadvantages of conducting video arbitrations as the landscape of the remote work environment continues to evolve.

During a panel discussion with arbitrators from the National Academy of Arbitrators and attorney advocates with experience in labor and employment arbitration, the program  will address issues ranging from pre-hearing procedures that help ensure a smooth process to witness and exhibit issues on the day of hearing.

The panel of speakers will include:

  • Arbitrator Catherine Ferrell, National Academy of Arbitrators
  • Arbitrator Betty Widgeon, National Academy of Arbitrators
