The Wolverine Bar Association will present “The Presidents’ Legal Agenda & Forum” next month with American Bar Association President Reginald Turner and National Bar Association President Carlos Moore.
The event will take place Friday, Nov. 12, from beginning at 6 p.m. at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit.
Turner is the 2021-2022 president of the American Bar Association. A lawyer with Clark Hill in Detroit, Turner also is past past president of the National Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan.
Among his numerous appointments, Turner served as a White House Fellow and as an aide to Housing and Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros during the Clinton administration and represented Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer on the Detroit Board of Education from 2000 to 2003.
In 2003, Gov. Jennifer Granholm appointed him to the Michigan State Board of Education, and he won a statewide election for a full term in 2006.
Moore, managing partner of The Cochran Firm — Mississippi Delta, was sworn in as president of the National Bar Association in July.
Moore has been a trial lawyer for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining The Cochran Firm, he was the managing partner at the Moore Law Group. He has litigated hundreds of cases with a focus on civil rights, police brutality, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death.
