ABA Young Lawyers Division seeking nominations for top 40 young lawyers


The American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division is seeking nominations for its 2022 On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers.

This will be the seventh annual On the Rise - Top 40 Young Lawyers, which provides national recognition for 40 ABA young lawyer members who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, innovation, vision, leadership, and legal and community service.

Nominees must be 36 years old or younger, or admitted to practice for five years or less as of September 1, 2021; a member of the ABA; and a licensed attorney in the U.S. or one of its territories. Self-nominations are welcome.

Nominations, which are due February 23, 2022, at 11:59 p.m., must be submitted via the online nomination form which can be found online at www.americanbar.org/groups/young_lawyers. The deadline for self-nominations is extended to March 1, 2022.

A selection committee composed of attorneys representing various practice settings will review the nominations and make selections based on a range of criteria. The nomination submission will be shared with each nominee.

Those recognized as On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers and their nominators will be notified and names published in June 2022.
