Befitting a 50-year celebration, there will be a golden glow to the evening of Saturday, Jan. 15 when the Collins Einhorn law firm marks the milestone with a gala event at the sparkling Daxton Hotel in downtown Birmingham.

More than 200 celebrants are expected to be on hand for the occasion, which will honor employees past and present who have played a role in the success of the firm, according to Collins Einhorn CEO Theresa Asoklis.

“This event has been in the planning stages since 2019, but, of course, had to be postponed a year because of the pandemic,” said Asoklis, who has spent her entire career with the firm after graduating from Wayne State University Law School.

The gala will feature a “Great Gatsby” theme and a time capsule to be opened upon the 75th anniversary of the firm in 2046.

“This was planned as a Collins Einhorn event to celebrate the growth and accomplishments of the firm,” said President Dan Collins.

A special nod will be given to Jan Fuhrman, who was hired in 1971 as a paralegal and spent her entire career with the firm until retiring in 2020.

“She is special and not too many firms can boast of having someone with that kind of longevity,” said Asoklis in praising Fuhrman.

The history of the firm is traced on its website along a timeline that was the brainchild of Collins Einhorn Executive Director Cynthia Whitcomb, who collaborated with founder Mort Collins in outlining the highlights and milestones on the road to legal prominence.

“Cynthia deserves credit for developing that, helping tell the story of the firm through the past 50 years,” said Collins.
