Bowling Night scheduled by ADTC

The Association of Defense Trial Counsel will host a Bowling Night on Wednesday, February 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bowlero Lanes in Royal Oak.

All registrants will receive a raffle ticket at the registration table for a chance to win a performance package from Brunswick.

Maddin Hauser continues its 2021-2022 Breakfast Bites: Employment Law Series with “What’s the Worst that Can Happen?  Protecting Employers with a Comprehensive Data Protection Plan” online Thursday, February 17, from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

WLEM event examines legal malpractice claims and grievances

The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan will present “Avoiding and Navigating Legal Malpractice Claims and Grievances” online Thursday, February 17, from 1 to 2 p.m.  

This Zoom presentation partnering with the State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Section and the attorneys in the professional liability group of Collins Einhorn Farrell PC.

Topics will include common defenses to legal-malpractice claims, the ins-and-outs of maintaining insurance coverage, and an overview of the attorney-disciplinary process.

Series will explore ‘Race and Society’

Western Michigan University Cooley Law School is continuing its Community Conversations series that examines important topics impacting society and the world today.  

For February, WMU Cooley will offer “Black History Month Community Conversation” on Friday, February 18, from 1 to 2 p.m. online via Webex.

Prof. David Ponton from the University of South Florida will discuss “Race and Society: Yesterday and Today,” with a look at African American history, gender and society, and the sociology of race.
