The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law’s Black Law Students Association (BLSA) in partnership with The Association of Black Law Alumni (ABLA) are hosting a virtual series for Black History Month. The online events include:
• BLSA’s Past, Present & Future: today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The BLSA hosts an informal mixer with alumni, current students, faculty, and community members.
• Versatility of the JD: Tuesday, Feb. 15, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Meet professionals that took a nontraditional path after graduating from law school.
• Strides Toward Justice: Wednesday, Feb. 16, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Hear from the Black History Month keynote speaker.
• A Conversation with author Prof. Peter J. Hammer (presented by ABLA & BLSA): Thursday, Feb. 17, from noon to 1 p.m. Hammerwill discuss his new book “No Equal Justice: The Legacy of Civil Rights Icon George W. Crockett Jr.” Wayne County Probate Court Judge Terrance A. Keith will host the event.
All events take place online via Zoom.
