Bodman admits new members, including two in Ann Arbor office

Alexandra E. Dieck, Alex E. Haney, Melissa B. Moore, Ryan M. Olson, Kenneth R. Powell, Annalise Lekas Surnow, and Melissa M. Tetreau have been admitted as members of Bodman PLC.

Moore was previously a senior attorney and Dieck, Haney, Olson, Powell, Surnow and Tetreau were previously senior associates with Bodman.

Dieck practices in Bodman’s Ann Arbor office and is a member of the Real Estate Practice Group. She counsels individuals and businesses on matters involving real estate and in general corporate and business matters. Her experience encompasses zoning, land use, the acquisition and disposition of property, commercial, residential and mixed use developments, real estate finance, and property tax issues, among other areas. She also practices municipal law and serves as the township attorney for Ann Arbor Charter Township.

She serves on the board of directors of the City of Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority and is a board member of Friends In Deed, a Washtenaw County non-profit organization that supports low-income families and individuals. 

Dieck is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and also earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan.

Powell practices in the Ann Arbor office and is a member of the Business Practice Group. He represents business clients in a variety of general corporate matters including business entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance transactions. He also advises public and privately held companies in connection with reporting and other requirements under state and federal securities laws. He has served on Bodman deal teams handling the negotiation and documentation of complex transactions involving businesses in the automotive, general manufacturing, software, data management, retail, and other sectors.

Powell began his legal career at Bodman and rejoined the firm in December 2020 after serving as in-house counsel for a publicly traded semiconductor capital equipment company. He is a cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and earned his undergraduate degree at Albion College.

Surnow practices in Bodman’s Detroit office. Haney, a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, practices in Bodman’s Troy office, as do Tetreau, Moore and Olson. Olson, who earned his undergraduate degree at MSU and an MBA at the MSU Broad School of Management, is a cum laude graduate of Michigan State University College of Law.
