PAAM offers victim advocate training

The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan will present Victim Advocate Basic Training online Monday through Friday, March 14-18, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. via Zoom.

The five-day, 40 hour training is designed to equip new advocates with basic level proficiency in comprehensive victim advocacy service provision. This training is intended for prosecutor based victim advocates.

State Bar schedules Lawyer Trust Accounts Seminar

The State Bar of Michigan will present the “Lawyer Trust Accounts Seminar: Management Principles & Recordkeeping Resources” online Tuesday, March 22 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

This virtual half-day webinar focuses on the ethical management of lawyer trust accounts, including the analysis used in processing client or third-party funds and an in-depth focus on recordkeeping requirements.  

Open to lawyers and their staff, the seminar offers an opportunity for participants to receive practical information regarding MRPC 1.15 and 1.15A.

Cost is $25 for lawyers, other legal professionals, law students, and unlicensed graduates.

Payment and the completed registration form must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, March 18.  To register, visit www.michbar.org/trustaccounts.

Materials will be emailed to participants to the email address provided during the registration process one day prior to the webinar.

Bankruptcy law examined at FBA webinar

The Bankruptcy Committee of the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, along with the Wolverine Bar Association will present the webinar “Introduction to Bankruptcy Law,” on Thursday, March 24, from 5 to 6 p.m. via Zoom.

The FBA and Wolverine Bar Association invite lawyers and law students to participate in a discussion of bankruptcy law and opportunities in this field of law.
