Warm welcome extended to new judge

Members of Macomb County’s legal community turned out in force recently to meet new Macomb County Probate Court Judge Sara A. Schimke (center in photo at left). Schimke is pictured with Erin Solaiman (left) and Farrah Ramdayal-Howard, a member of the Macomb County Bar Association’s board of directors. The reception at Ernie’s Grill in Clinton Township was sponsored by the Macomb County Probate Bar Association (MCPBA).

Schmke was appointed in March by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to fill the vacancy created by the January retirement of Judge Kathryn George. Previously, Schimke specialized in probate law, estate planning and advocacy at Chalgian & Tripp PLLC in Southfield. Also on hand to greet the judge were (standing in photo at right) State Bar of Michigan President Dana Warnez and Wayne Wilson along with Warnez’ mother and law practice partner, Florence Schoenherr-Warnez.

Among the others taking the opportunity to greet the new member of the probate court bench were (from left): Steevie Marrin; Maryanne Deneweth, MCPBA secretary; Donald Strehl; and David Forest, MCPBA vice-president.
