Former assistant prosecutor pleads guilty to OWI

A former prosecutor in Shiawassee County has admitted to arriving to work under the influence of alcohol last year, according to state Attorney General Dana Nessel.

At the beginning of August, Brown arrived to work late and admitted to being under the influence. A subsequent blood draw indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .143 grams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood.  A search of his vehicle then revealed Brown had two loaded unlocked firearms with him.

Brown last week pleaded to the following before Shiawassee County 66th District Court Judge Ward L. Clarkson:

  • One count of operating while visibly impaired, a 93-day misdemeanor.
  • One count of possession of a firearm by a person under the influence, also a 93-day misdemeanor.

Brown’s concealed pistol license will be revoked as a result of the conviction.
