ABA letters support enhanced security for judges

American Bar Association President Reginald Turner recently sent a letter to House and Senate Leadership and the House and Senate Judiciary Committees in support of S. 4160, which would enhance judicial security for Supreme Court Justices, as well as H.R. 4436 and S. 2340, which would enhance security protections for all federal judges.

The Senate passed legislation by a voice vote to expand security protection to immediate family members of a Supreme Court Justice of the United States.

The Daniel Anderl Judicial Security and Privacy Act of 2021, named after the murdered son of United States District Court of New Jersey Judge Esther Salas, would provide additional security to all judges.

The ABA has supported this bipartisan legislation since its introduction last year.
