Justin Wheeler joins Bodman PLC office in Grand Rapids
Justin R. Wheeler has joined Bodman PLC as a senior attorney in the Grand Rapids office, in the Real Estate Practice Group.
He represents business and individual clients involved in real estate transactions ranging from significant personal residences to large commercial properties including sales and acquisitions for cash, on land contract, and with seller or traditional lender financing. He reviews, drafts, and negotiates commercial leases for both lessors and lessees for office, retail and industrial properties.
He also represents owners, developers, contractors, and subcontractors in construction-related matters.
Wheeler previously practiced with another West Michigan law firm where he chaired the business and real estate practice.
A member of the American Bar Association and the Grand Rapids Bar Association, Wheeler is active with the Commercial Alliance of REALTORS West Michigan and serves on the organization’s Education Committee.
He is also active with the Greenstone Institute, a Grand Rapids-based nonprofit.
A magna cum laude graduate of WMU-Cooley Law School, Wheeler holds a B.B.A. in Management from Davenport University.
GRBA honors Warner partner with award
Emily S. Rucker, a partner at Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has been selected for a Grand Rapids Bar Association 3 in 10 Award. She was honored at the recent Grand Rapids Bar Association’s Annual Meeting.
Rucker is a commercial litigator in Warner’s Grand Rapids office whose practice focuses on supply chain and construction disputes. She represents clients in the automotive, manufacturing and construction industries in a variety of disputes involving breach of contract, contract termination, construction lien and defect and delay issues.
Rucker also serves as co-chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the West Michigan Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. She serves on the Turnaround Management Association of West Michigan’s NextGen Committee and the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre and School of Theatre Arts board of directors.
