State Representative Terry J. Sabo, currently running for the 32nd state senate district, recently received the Independent Living Champion Award from Disability Network/Michigan.
Disability Network/Michigan and its 15 Centers for Independent Living honor individuals with the “Independent Living Champion Award” for their support of efforts to promote the independent living philosophy. Recipients of this award display a clear understanding of the independent living philosophy and are active in helping to ensure that people with disabilities have the resources and services they need to make informed choices, have personal control over their lives, and to participate to the fullest extent possible in everyday activities at work, in their families and in their communities.
