ALS of Michigan introduces new transportation program for patients

ALS patients in advanced stages of the disease spend as much as $9 a mile for transportation—that’s why ALS of Michigan established the Thomas Worford Jr. Transportation program to transport ALS patients and their families to non-emergency medical appointments and patient services.

This program is in honor of Thomas Worford Jr. who died from ALS in 2019.

ALS of Michigan, Inc. is a non-profit organization providing services, education, and support to pALS, their families, and caregivers; and supports research.

‘Humans of Muskegon’ set for September 24

‘Humans of Muskegon’ will be held 10 a.m.. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Norton Shores Branch Library.

Join MADL for a storytelling project, in which Muskegon County residents share stories about what it means to be them in the community and how they defy stereotypes.

Featured are lesser told stories, from people who have experienced discrimination because of who they are, their lifestyle, a diagnosis, disability, belief, and more.
