Firm hosts event to support New Day Foundation
BSP Law will host “An Evening for a New Day” on Thursday, September 15, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Detroit Golf Club, 17911 Hamilton Rd. in Detroit.
The evening will feature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction. Proceeds from this event will go to New Day Foundation for Families to directly support families fighting cancer.
New Day Foundation for Families is an accessible, trusted and patient-centric Michigan cancer support organization that provides financial and emotional resources to improve quality of life and treatment outcomes. New Day provides financial assistance directly to creditors on behalf of families for critical living expenses.

‘GAL and Appointed Attorney Training’ offered at OCBA
The Oakland County Bar Association’s Probate, Estates, and Trusts Committee will present “Probate Court: GAL and Appointed Attorney Training” on Friday, September 23, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with check-in and continental breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the OCBA offices, 1760 South Telegraph Road, Suite 100, in Bloomfield Hills.
Attendees will be able to find out everything they need to know to receive appointments through Oakland County Probate Court.
Topics of discussion will include:
• Legal Overview of Guardianships and Conservatorships
• Duties of Defense Attorneys and Guardians Ad Litem
• The Appointment Process
• The Legal Overview of Involuntary Mental Health Treatment
• Legal Overview of Developmentally Disabled Guardianships
• Perspectives of GALs and Defense Attorneys
