Major party candidates running for State Senate and for State Representative will present their positions at two “Meet the Candidates” webinars being organized by National Council of Jewish Women, Michigan (NCJW | MI), a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates committed to social justice, including voter advocacy. Meet the Candidates - State Senate will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 28, and Meet the Candidates - State House will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29. Candidates will share their priorities, state their positions, and respond to questions that focus on timely issues. The webinars are being held to educate the public so informed decisions can be made in the critical upcoming election. These events are free and open to the public. Coordinator of “Meet the Candidates”, Lynn Lieberman, said: “We are offering these sessions for constituents to learn what positions their candidates take on certain issues and what leadership qualities and experience they would bring to the office.”
Meet the Candidates-State Senate is divided into two sessions on Wednesday, Sept. 28.
Session 1 at 6:45 p.m. includes candidates Erika Geiss (Democrat, District 1), Mary Cavanaugh (Democrat, District 6), and Ken Crider (Republican, District 6).
Session 2 at 8:00 p.m. includes candidates Jeremy Moss (Democrat, District 7), Padma Kuppa (Democrat, District 9), and Rosemary Bayer (Democrat, District 13).
Meet the Candidates-State House is divided into two sessions on Thursday, Sept. 29.
Session 1 at 6:45 p.m. includes these candidates or their representative: Natalie Price (Democrat, District 5), Paul Taros (Republican, District 5), Jason Hoskins (Democrat, District 18), Dr. Wendy Webster Jackson (Republican, District 18), Samantha Steckloff (Democrat, District 19), and Anthony Paesano (Republican, District 19).
Session 2 at 8:00 p.m. includes candidates Noah Arbit (Democrat, District 20), Christina Kafkakis (Democrat, District 49), Ann Bollin (Republican, District 49), Shadia Martini (Democrat, District 54), and Donni Steele (Republican, District 54).
