Nessel names new press secretary

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel on Monday announced Sharisse Thompson as her new press secretary in the Department of Attorney General, Office of Public Information and Education.  

“Sharisse brings the experience and talent needed for this role and I believe she will be a great asset to our team,” Nessel said. “Her experience in news will help communicate to the media and public the important work of the Department of Attorney General.” 

Prior to her role as Press Secretary, Thompson worked in television news as an anchor and reporter in Toledo and as a reporter in Flint where she covered the Flint Water Crisis. Thompson has also reported for stations in Savannah, Georgia and Bluefield, West Virginia. She is a Detroit native and graduated from Renaissance High School and Michigan State University.
