The re-dedication of the Victims of Violent Crime Memorial was held Sept. 17 at Cascade Park. Larry Mentink (right), who was instrumental in the planning and implementation of the Memorial, died last December. Mentink, who lost his son Jim to a violent crime, was also an active participant in the Michigan Victim Impact Panels helping to guide Jackson youth on the right path.
