Law firm co-hosts 2022 Michigan Defense Industry AUSA reception in Washington, D.C. 

Butzel, in partnership with the Michigan Defense Center, an operation of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, and Macomb County, are co-hosting the 2022 Michigan Defense Industry – Arsenal of Innovation Annual Reception on Monday, October 10, at the Army and Navy Club in Washington, D.C. 

This invitation only event brings together global leadership from private industry and high-level military officials. 

The reception coincides with the Annual Meeting and Expo organized by the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), which takes place from October 10-12 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. 

AUSA supports soldiers, their families, and Army civilians and provides a voice for the Army and honors those who have served. 

“We are honored to participate in this event which highlights Michigan’s Defense Industry, connecting industry and government to protect and grow Michigan’s defense sector in Michigan,” said Beth S. Gotthelf, co-chair of Butzel’s Aerospace & Defense Industry Team. “We are committed to building relationships with, and supporting, Michigan’s defense industry businesses.”

 

‘Annual Youth Law Conference’ presented by OCBA 

The Oakland County Bar Association will host the “28th Annual Youth Law Conference” on Tuesday, November 1, at the MSU Management Education Center in Troy.

The Youth Law Conference is a one-day event that educates high school juniors and seniors about career options in the legal profession, the general legal process, provides tools for better decision-making, and features a variety of legal issues as they pertain to the students. By tailoring this program to the interests and issues of a teen audience, the OCBA and its volunteer attorneys deliver an engaging program that is a hit with students and teachers alike.

This year’s conference will feature keynote speaker Michigan Supreme Court Justice Richard Bernstein. Other topics addressed during the conference will include:

The Youth Law Conference is presented by the Law-Related Education Committee of the OCBA with support from the Oakland County Bar Foundation.
