Admission ceremony  scheduled for new lawyers at courthouse

The list of those who passed the July bar exam has been released by the State Board of Law Examiners.

The list appears on Page 4 of this paper as well as on the board’s website at www.courts.michigan.gov/administration/committees-boards/board-of-law-examiners.

The Macomb County Bar Association will host its new lawyer admission ceremony on Tuesday, November 22, at 4 p.m. at the Macomb County Courthouse, 3rd floor courtroom of Judge James Biernat Jr., 40 N. Main in Mt. Clemens.  

Check-in begins at 3 p.m. Law school graduates who passed the bar exam and wish to register should contact Rick Troy at RTroy@macombbar.org or 586-468-2940.


Medical-related matters discussed at CDAM program

The Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan will present an in-person program on “The Ins and Outs of Bruising and the Basics of Medical Terminology” Friday, December 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Macomb Community College, University Center Building on Center Campus, 44575 Garfield Rd. in Clinton Twp.

Presenting at the program will be Mary Seibold of Seibold & Associates Consulting Agency.  

As a legal nurse consultant and RN, Seibold uses her experience as a healthcare provider and specialized training to consult on medical-related cases. Her clinical experience in ICU and medical-surgical nursing has granted her a deep understanding of disease processes, injuries, and medical terminology.

With her administrative experience within the insurance industry, she can analyze stacks of medical records easily and cost-effectively.

Cost for the seminar is $60 per person and includes refreshments.

SBM section hosts Winter Gala

The Italian American Bar Association of Michigan (IABAM) will host its 89th Annual Winter Gala on Friday, Dec. 9 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester.

Proceeds and assistance from this black tie optional event will be provided to Friends of Foster Kids.

Tickets are $125 per person and $60 per student. The event is open to non-members.
