Family law attorney joins Foster Swift

Benjamin R. Judd has joined Foster Swift’s Grand Rapids office as a member of the general litigation practice group. Judd focuses his practice in the areas of divorce, collaborative divorce, pre-nuptial agreements, child custody, child support, as well as general civil litigation.  

Previously, Judd was in a Grand Rapids-based private practice where he focused on these areas as well as an on-going mediation practice focusing on domestic matters, primarily divorce. He has successfully tried and resolved complex divorce cases ranging from interstate custody issues, high asset cases with large businesses, as well as difficult custody matters involving physically and verbally abusive parents. He has also prepared stepparent adoptions, and petitions for grandparenting time.  

After receiving his Bachelor's degree from Grand Valley State University, Judd attended Cooley Law School in Grand Rapids where he received his J.D. and Master of Laws Degree in Taxation.

Stroup joins Varnum’s real estate practice 

 

Michael Stroup has joined Varnum’s real estate practice and is based in the Grand Rapids office.

Stroup assists clients with sales and acquisitions, development, leasing and construction matters related to commercial, industrial and residential properties. 

He also has broad experience advising closely-held businesses on entity formation, succession planning, transactions and tax matters.

Stroup previously worked for a real estate law boutique firm in Grand Rapids. 

Stroup is a 2019 graduate of Indiana University Maurer School of Law, 

He received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Michigan University, graduating summa cum laude with a double major in economics and political science.
