Prosecutor: Ten-year-old boy with hit list brings knife to school

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has charged and arraigned a 10 year-old boy from Mt. Clemens with bringing a knife to school.

The boy allegedly brought a knife to Prevail Academy in Mt. Clemens last Tuesday.  The boy had a “hit list” of children who were mean to him and called him names, according to the prosecutor’s office.

The juvenile asked a fellow student to hold down another boy so the juvenile could stab the boy with the knife, authorities said.

The student took the knife away from the juvenile and gave it to an adult when he was picked up from school.

The prosecutor says the juvenile was charged with solicitation of assault with a dangerous weapon and having a weapon in a weapon-free school.

Following arraignment, the boy was given a $500 personal bond. He was released with a GPS tether and is under house arrest.

“The juvenile who gave the knife to an adult is a hero. He saw something and said something which saved lives,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido.
