DeWaard named among leading litigators in U.S.

Varnum trial attorney Ron DeWaard has been named to the inaugural Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America.

Chair of the firm, DeWaard was recognized for white collar, investigations and civil litigation. He was one of five Michigan attorneys to make the list, with the majority of those recognized hailing from New York, Chicago and Washington, D.C.

He concentrates his practice in civil and white-collar litigation, as well as internal investigations. He has tried cases in courts across the country and has obtained multimillion dollar verdicts and settlements for plaintiff businesses. He has also obtained a number of defense verdicts against plaintiffs claiming high damages.

His record of success includes representation of the former Director of the Michigan Health and Human Services in connection with the Flint Water Crisis, where he obtained dismissal of the indictment brought by the Michigan Attorney General.

DeWaard previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida; and was also Deputy Chief of the Major Crimes Division in that office 2000 – 2001.

Conor Dugan appointed to  Aquinas College Board of Trustees

 Warner Norcross + Judd LLP attorney Conor B. Dugan was appointed to the Aquinas College Board of Trustees to serve a three-year term. 

Dugan focuses his practice on appellate work, regularly representing clients in the U.S. Supreme Court, Michigan Supreme Court, numerous federal courts of appeals and the Michigan Court of Appeals. 

He serves as treasurer of the Catholic Lawyers Association of Western Michigan and on the programming committee of Catholic Charities West Michigan.
