The Rockin’ Xmas Party— the annual fundraiser by the Soul Practitioners, an all-attorney R & B band in Ann Arbor—was held Dec. 9 at Circ Bar in downtown Ann Arbor, drawing about 225 people, mostly attorneys, judges, and court staff. Band members include John Reiser (keyboards), Rita White (vocals), Scott Munzel (sax), Bob Carbeck (drums), Bob Killewald (guitar), and Tom Styles (bass). The event raised 11 large bags of toys for Toys for Tots and the Mchigan Foster Care Closet; two barrels of food for Food Gatherers, totaling 230 pounds of food; and 12 bags/boxes of food, pet toys, blankets, and towels for the Humane Society of Huron Valley. In addition, $125 was donated for Toys for Tots, $725 for Food Gatherers, and $345 for the Humane Society.
