‘State Oversight Masterclass’ offered online by Levin Center

The Levin Center for Oversight and Democracy will offer the webinar “State Oversight Masterclass: Oversight Agenda Setting” on Monday, January 23, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. via Zoom.

Attendees can join the Levin Center for Oversight and Democracy to learn about the power of legislative oversight to solve problems, serve your constituents, and make government accountable for results.

In this 90-minute interactive session, attendees will learn about the tools of oversight, interact with national oversight experts and leaders, and come away with a rough outline for your own legislative oversight agenda. Participants will hear from Levin Center experts on preparing an effective legislative oversight plan and meet other elected officials from across the country dedicated to finding facts.

‘Vision Boards with Zenell Brown’ offered by WLAM in person and online

The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan will present  “Vision Boards with Zenell Brown” as an in-person and virtual event on Saturday, January 28, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Wayne County Circuit Court Administrator Zenell Brown will guide participants through making Vision Boards. She will be located in Detroit at University of Detroit Mercy School of Law located at 651 E. Jefferson.  WLAM will host a Zoom for those in person in Grand Rapids and Lansing, and for anyone else who wants to attend completely virtually.  Instructions of what participants need to bring, depending on location, will be provided in the confirmation email.

In a supportive, relaxed, and enjoyable setting, attendees will have an opportunity to create a vision board that inspires them to pursue their dreams. Boards will be created on canvas as a masterpiece showcasing the year that participants are committed to creating and experiencing. In addition, attendees will learn some strategies for intention setting and achieving goals.
