Senior expo planned in Sterling Heights
Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido is encouraging area senior citizens to attend the Sterling Heights Senior Expo on Wednesday, April 12 at the Century Banquet Center in Sterling Heights.
The event is free and will include free health screenings, free refreshments, prizes and giveaways.
Lucido says it is a priority of his office to protect seniors from scams and give them the information they need to arm themselves as a senior citizen.
The booklets contain information on scams aimed at seniors including identity theft, telemarketing fraud, internet fraud, home improvement fraud and caregiver fraud.
It also contains information on Michigan’s Patient Advocate Law, guardianships, durable power of attorney and nursing home rights.
