ABA to celebrate 3L Week with programming, prizes

Law students have faced unprecedented challenges attending school during a global pandemic and from April 17-23, the ABA is celebrating the accomplishments of graduating law students and partnering with them as they transition to a new career.

ABA 3L Week provides opportunities and resources for graduating 3L students, including programming that offers practical advice and strategies for those preparing to sit for the July bar exam. For instance, the Law Student Division’s virtual programs this week include “8 Essential Tips for First-Time Bar Exam Takers” and “5 Tips for Bar Exam Success” with Helix Bar Prep by AccessLex.

In addition, every graduating 3L who signs up for their first professional ABA membership ($75) during the week will receive a Bar Prep Care Package and will be entered into a drawing for Amazon gift cards and a grand prize of a travel package to the ABA Annual Meeting in Denver, August 2-8.

“Becoming a full ABA member sets new lawyers up with access to professional development tools and resources to jump-start their professional success,” said ABA President Deborah Enix-Ross. “New lawyers will have immediate access to hundreds of articles, webinars, podcast episodes and CLEs to help them settle into their new career.”

The Young Lawyers Division has also produced a toolkit that gives law schools programming and resources so they can celebrate their 3Ls preparing to graduate and take the bar.
