Great Voices of the 1940s through 1960s

The Muskegon Area District Library is the proud sponsor of the White Lake Music Society’s  Lecture Series.

“Great Voices of the 1940s through the 60s” is set 7 to 8 p.m, Tuesday, April 25, at the Book Nook & Java Shop, 8744 Street, Montague.

A Zoom link will also be available on the White Lake Chamber Music Society website.

Muskegon native and music scholar, Thomas Wikman, continues his series on the great singers of the 20th century. He will focus on the golden voices of the two decades between 1940 and 1960, many very familiar to us. Carefully selected recorded examples will be included.

David Lubbers: The Mysterious Landscape

This exhibit of work by Grand Rapids artist/photographer David Lubbers, will run through May 14 at the Muskegon Museum of Art.

Louis Armstrong Tribute set April 28

Louis Armstrong’s voice was unmistakable, his personality magnetic, and artistry astonishing.

Celebrated trumpeter and vocalist Byron Stripling joins the West Michigan Symphony to perform an electrifying homage, featuring “What a Wonderful World”, “Saint Louis Blues”, “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” and more.  The concert is set 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 28, in the Frauenthal Center.
