The Jackson Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with AARP Michigan, invites residents of all ages and abilities to participate in the free Walk, Roll and Stroll Jackson summer series. This six-event program kicks off on Tuesday, May 2 at Ella Sharp Park soccer fields parking lot.
Registration begins at 6 p.m. with the event starting at 6:30 p.m. Participants will go on a non-competitive 3-mile route through the park. Ella Sharp Park is located at 2800 Fourth Street. The soccer fields are on the east side of the park off Birchwood Drive.
The remaining events are scheduled for May 23, June 6, June 20, July 11 and July 25, with registration starting at 6 p.m. and the program commencing at 6:30 p.m. The first Tuesday event listed each month will be held at Ella Sharp Park and the second Tuesday listed will take place at Cascades Falls Park, 1401 S. Brown St., in the pavilion near the parking lot off S. Brown Street.
Door prizes will be awarded to children and adults at the completion of each event with a grand prize awarded on July 25. Schedules will be available at each event or on the 5th Floor of City Hall, 161 W. Michigan Ave.
