Scott J. DeWeerd joins Warner
Scott J. DeWeerd has joined Warner Norcross + Judd LLP as an associate, in the Holland office.
A resident of Grand Rapids, DeWeerd concentrates his practice on trusts and estates, asset protection and tax planning. He brings a background in planning for multigenerational wealth transfers, multinational families, closely held businesses and family offices and counsels clients on charitable giving strategies, income tax reduction techniques and trust and estate administration and litigation. He works with ultra-high-net-worth clients, highly compensated clients and family and closely held businesses.
He previously was a private client services attorney with Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge in Holland and Grand Rapids and with Molosky & Co. in Harbor Springs.
DeWeerd holds a bachelor’s degree from Albion College and a JD from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where he also received a master of law degree in taxation.
