Applicants sought for two vacancies on Michigan Appellate Defender Commission; deadline May 12

The State Bar of Michigan Board of Commissioners is seeking applications for the following vacancies:

• Michigan Appellate Defender Commission: Two vacancies for four-year terms beginning this month.

The Michigan Appellate Defender Commission is a statewide, seven-person body that sets policy for the State Appellate Defender Office and the Michigan Appellate Assigned Counsel System, hires the directors, and reviews and adopts regulations for assigning appellate counsel.

Commissioners are nominated by the State Bar and various courts and appointed by the governor. The commission meets quarterly.

Those interested in applying should submit a resume and a letter of interest via email to mbossenbery@michbar.org.

The deadline to apply is May 12.
