The Macomb Bar Foundation has extended its Law Day celebration throughout the month of May, scheduling ceremones at schools to recognize winners of its poster and essay contest. Law Day, held annually on May 1, is a national day established to celebrate the rule of law. Several Macomb County judges have joined the foundation leadership to visit schools to recognize the winners and talk about the importance of civics, civility and collaboration. Among the judges involved in the project is 38th District Court Judge Kathleen Galen, pictured with Willow Adkins, a student at Wilde Elementary School in Warren, who won first place among first graders in the poster competition. Willow’s poster is pictured and this entry, along with other winning posters and essays, is scheduled to be posted on the Macomb County Bar Association’s website.
