Families across metro Detroit will be gathering in Birmingham on Saturday, June 3, for the return of the “Law Day Family Fun Fair” from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Scott Goodwin Law, 999 Haynes, just south of Maple Road and east of Woodward.
“Like so many charity events, we were forced to cancel in 2020, 2021, and even in 2022 for lingering safety precautions (due to the pandemic),’ said a spokesperson for Scott Goodwin Law. “It’s a family-friendly combo: Free legal advice for adults (family law, personal injury, auto accidents, bankruptcy, real estate, medical issues, and more); free carnival fun for the kids (bounce houses, face painting, and free bike helmets); and of course, Law Day means free hot dogs and ice cream for all.”
Prizes this year include four BMX-style bikes to be given away hourly, plus Detroit Tiger tickets, he said.
Presented by Scott Goodwin Law, the legal aid clinic offers free legal counsel from a variety of top lawyers donating their time for the event. Attorneys will be available to discuss all areas of law.
“We give back to the community by providing free legal advice and a chance to get legal questions answered in a friendly, pressure-free environment,” said Goodwin, a past president of the Michigan Association for Justice. “To keep kids safer this summer, we hand out free bicycle safety helmets to every child attending.”
Note to all “superhero” movie lovers: This year’s special guests will be two of everybody’s favorite superheroes in person for photo opportunities and fun.
