WMU-Cooley Law School features author for June 22 online book club launch

As part of its Community Conversations virtual event series, Western Michigan University Cooley Law School will present the “Coffee and Conversations: Inclusion and Belonging” Book Club Launch with author Zenell Brown online Thursday, June 22, from noon to 1 p.m.

“Coffee and Conversations: Inclusion and Belonging,” published in 2020, is a guide to getting beyond the racial and economic chasm that has separated humans for far too long. Brown suggests people put down  protest signs, stop marching, and sit down with a cup of coffee and have an honest conversation while following her guidelines. Future “Coffee and Conversations: Inclusion and Belonging” Book Club discussions will take place online Tuesday, June 29, at noon and 5 p.m.

Brown is an author and a champion of justice for all through her DEI efforts and initiatives. She combined her court leadership, crucial conversation, dispute resolution skills, and diversity skills as the former court administrator for the Wayne County Circuit Court.

Brown is a member of the Black Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, National Association of Women Judges-Michigan Chapter, State Bar of Michigan Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council, SBM ADR Section-Diversity and Inclusion Action Team, and Detroit Bar Association.
