Webinar explores educational issues in delinquencies

The Youth Defense Project of the State Appellate Defender Office and Michigan Appellate Assigned Counsel System will conduct the webinar “Educational Issues in Delinquencies” presented by Dana D’Andrea on Thursday, August 17, beginning at noon via Zoom.

Educational specialist D’Andrea will present on some common issues and how to support and advocate for youth who have educational needs.

Taking a close look at cannabis and property insurance

The Cannibis Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan will present “Property Insurance, Cannabis, & Increased Hazard Webinar” on Thursday, Aug. 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. voa Zoom.  

Robih Hamawi, of Law Office of Rabih Hamawi PC, will lead the program.

Hamawi has expertise in insurance coverage, business negotiations, and commercial litigation. He focuses his practice on representing businessowners, homeowners, property owners, and other insurance policyholders in fire, property damage, and insurance-coverage disputes with insurance companies and in errors-and-omissions cases against insurance agents.

‘How to Read a Driving Record’ explored in seminar

The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan will present the Traffic Safety Training Program webinar “How to Read a Driving Record” on Wednesday, Aug. 30, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

Presenter Melissa Noll, court liaison with the Michigan Department of State (MDOS), will go over a MDOS driving record and how to understand the information that is contained in it.  

Noll will also compare the information that MDOS sees on a person’s driving record versus what information shows up on the Judicial Information Systems (JIS) version.  

This webinar will also discuss 625g permits, which a driver receives as a temporary paper permit when following an Operating While Intoxicated arrest.
