State Bar panel offers Michigan Tax Tribunal Webinar

The State Bar of Michigan State and Local Tax Committee will present the “Michigan Tax Tribunal Webinar” on Monday, Aug. 21, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Webinar attendees will receive the administrative court’s perspective on tax matters that come before it  as well as an overview of the tribunal’s recent organizational and administrative changes.

Attendees will receive updates on the tax tribunal’s docket statistics related to current and pending filings as well as tips on how to navigate confidentiality and protective order issues in light of the Freedom of Information Act and Open Meetings Act while the tribunal awaits further guidance from the Michigan Court of Appeals.

The virtual session will also provide the ability to address the topic and questions you have about practicing before the Tribunal.

PAAM schedules annual conference

The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan will conduct its 96th Annual Conference Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 24-27, at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.

Registration is open to county prosecuting attorneys and their staff.  The agenda includes professional education opportunities, discussion of PAAM policy, the election of PAAM officers, networking events, and social activities.

SBM webinar looks at cross-cultural issues

The International Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan will present the webinar “Managing Cultural Differences to Improve Results” on Thursday, Sept. 7, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

Guest speaker Nadine Henry will lead the coaching session on cross-cultural awareness.  

Henry has more than 15 years leading cross-cultural and cross-functional teams in multinational corporations.
