Attorneys featured at MEMA’s 2023 OEM Terms and Conditions Update

The annual program will provide attendees with updates on OEM terms and conditions and related insights to consider when working with contracts.
Butzel attorneys who will lead the program include Cynthia Haffey, Sheldon Klein, Daniel Rustmann, Rebecca Davies, David DeVine, Daniel Vivarelli, and Mitchell Zajac.
They will discuss updates on case law, ESG, IP OEM terms, protecting against uncertainty, and “Can I Exit this Contract?”
Updated OEM terms and conditions are included in the 2023 edition of the “OEM Light Vehicle North American Production Purchase Order Contract Terms and Conditions Comparative Analysis,”
publication. It will be available at a discount with event registration, at the event, and through the end of the day on September 27.
The publication compares the terms and conditions of BMW, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Lucid, Mazda, Mercedes, Nissan, Rivian, Scout, Stellantis, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo. The new edition addresses updates for BMW, Honda, Mercedes, and Nissan. In addition, for the first time, it includes the Mazda terms (Mazda Motors of America Inc. Master Sales and Purchase Agreement, 08/11/20) and the Scout Motor terms (Scout Motors Inc. Production Terms and Conditions of Purchase, January 27, 2023).

In a story that ran in the August 30, 2023, edition of the Detroit Legal News, Danielle Bass was incorrectly identified as the first woman elected as ACG?Detroit’s chapter president. Bass is the chapter’s second female president.
In a photo that ran in the August 3, 2023, edition of the Detroit Legal News of WMU-Cooley Law School graduate Jayson Thomas receiving the Student Achievement Award from the Tax Section of the State Bar of Michigan, the caption incorrectly identified Cooley graduate Josh Bemis as Professor Daniel?Houlf. The caption should have read: “WMU-Cooley Law School graduate Jayson Thomas was awarded the Student Achievement Award by the Tax Section of the State Bar of Michigan during the 35th annual State Bar Tax Conference on May 25. Pictured, from left, WMU-Cooley Law School graduate Josh Bemis and Jayson Thomas.”
