Three former Detroit lions were on hand to help as the Macomb County Bar Foundation resumed its Book Club presentations after a break lasting several years. Last month’s discussion — held just two days before the Detroit Lions opened their regular season schedule — was held at the Barnes and Noble outlet in Shelby Township, focusing on “Black and Honolulu Blue: In the Trenches of the NFL,” written by Keith Dorney (seated, center). Dorney is pictured with (seated from left) former teammates Rob Rubick and Rich Strenger along with (standing from left) Bill Moore, Steve Steinhardt and Chris Metry. The three athletes played with the Lions at various times during the 1980s.
