Detroit judge to address NAABA-MI gala

The National Arab American Bar Association - Michigan chapter has announced that the keynote speaker for the NAABA-MI 2nd Annual Gala will be Third Judicial Circuit Court Judge Mariam Bazzi who is also a founding member of NAABA-MI.

Bazzi has served on the Detroit bench since 2017. She currently serves in the Criminal Division overseeing a Mental Health Court docket in addition to her regular duties.

She also serves on the Court Executive Committee and on the Strategic Planning Team where she is the Judicial Sponsor of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Bazzi previously served as an assistant Wayne County prosecutor.  During her service at the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, she prosecuted thousands of criminal cases including violent crimes, drug cases, financial crimes and other complex, and high-profile cases.

Before leaving for the bench, she was the lead attorney in charge of the Mortgage and Deed Fraud Task Force.
