3rd Circuit Court announces attorney assignment application period open for 2024


Attorneys seeking house counsel assignments at the Lincoln Hall of Justice (Juvenile Division) for child protection and delinquency matters are required to submit an Attorney Application/Profile form online during the open application period. A link has been posted on the Third Circuit Court Family Juvenile page (www.3rdcc.org/divisions/family-juvenile) and further requirements are set forth in the online application.

In order to qualify for assignments, you must have the following:

• A completed attorney profile/application

• A membership in good standing with the Michigan State Bar

• A valid email address

• Provided certification or proof of completion of a minimum of two training sessions related to the practice in the Juvenile Division

• Approval by the Attorney Review Committee

• Appeals – In addition to the foregoing eligibility requirements, attorneys seeking appellate assignments must submit a sample brief for review by the Attorney Review Committee.

• Designated Cases – In addition to the foregoing eligibility requirements, attorneys seeking assignments to designated cases must provide proof of current Detroit-Wayne County Criminal Advocacy Program (CAP) certification.

 

Ninetieth Annual Winter Gala hosted by IABAM Dec. 1
 

The Italian American Bar Association of Michigan will host its Ninetieth Annual Winter Gala benefitting Friends of Foster Kids on Friday, December 1, beginning at 6 p.m.

The black tie optional event will take place at Highlands Renaissance Center in Detroit and feature hor d’oeuvres, cocktails, dinner, dessert, presentation of awards, and live music by Fantasia.
