The American Bar Association has joined with Thomson Reuters in supporting the Books for Africa Jack Mason Law & Democracy Initiative by donating an extensive list of law books published by the ABA and its members.
Since 2008, the Books for Africa Jack Mason Law & Democracy Initiative has shipped 136 law and human rights libraries to 24 African countries. Book titles in these reference collections span the breadth of the legal system, including common law, business law, international law and human rights and legal process subjects such as
document drafting and trial preparation.
“The Books for Africa Jack Mason Law & Democracy Initiative is a truly remarkable and visionary endeavor,” said Donna Gollmer, director of ABA Publishing. “The opportunity to join Thomson Reuters in supporting Books for Africa by providing court systems, bar associations, women’s legal organizations and law schools across Africa with essential law books is a powerful way to support both the Rule of Law and access to justice.”
