Dykema attorneys explore corporate compliance challenges Nov. 17

As part of its Litigation Institute webinar series, Dykema will present “Navigating Four Challenges for Corporate Compliance” online Thursday, November 16, beginning at 1 p.m.

Dykema’s Government Investigations and Corporate Compliance team will discuss the new DOJ policies on (1) reporting misconduct during the M&A process and (2) document claw back, (3) the evolving case law eroding the attorney-client privilege, and (4) the pending Supreme Court cases on False Claims Act liability. Having held important leadership positions with DOJ and U.S. Attorneys’ Offices in EDMI, SDNY, and DNJ, Dykema’s panel will examine the government perspective and provide helpful information as to how companies can best position themselves to manage the enforcement surge.

Speaking at the webinar will be Dykema’s Jennifer Beidel, member, Bloomfield Hills; Mark Chutkow, member, Bloomfield Hills; Chantel Febus, member, Washington, D.C.; Jonathan Feld, member, Chicago.

The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan’s Violence Against Women Project will present a webinar on “Uniting Three Fires Against Violence” Monday, November 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. via Zoom.

Uniting Three Fires Against Violence (UTFAV) is a statewide tribal domestic violence and sexual assault coalition serving the tribes located in Michigan.

In addition, the presentation includes information related to current issues impacting tribal sovereignty and access to justice, safety, and healing for Native Americans.

The presentation will feature Rachel Carr-Shunk, executive director of UTFAV, and Sandra Pilgrim-Lewis, UTFAV DVS project director for the program. In honor of Native American Heritage Month (November), the webinar welcomes and honors the work and contributions these two women.

This free webinar is open to prosecutors, advocates, and law enforcement.  It satisfies 2 hours of continuing legal education for purposes of PAAM’s best practices recommendations.
