The Michigan Judicial Institute (MJI) will present “Helping You Sleep at Night: Identifying Intimate Partner Violence in Your Cases Webinar” Wednesday, January 10, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.
This webinar will help to spot potential issues relating to intimate partner violence, dispel some common misconceptions about its prevalence, and provide guidance in making legally sound and trauma-informed decisions.
Topics will also include how the use of alcohol and illicit substances relate to Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), known lethality factors, and a greater understanding of context of physical violence and manipulation tactics.
Speaking at the webinar will be Washtenaw County Circuit Court Judge Arianne E. Slay and Lore Rogers, MDHHS-Michigan Domestic and Sexual Violence Prevention and Treatment Board.
This program for judicial officers and quasi-judicial officers is eligible for continuing judicial education credit.
